Asking for higher drawdown / VAR asks

Long story shortened; superb year in trading in the energy space, decent outperformance in terms of VAR/DD-to-PNL ratio, so TC should be in millions

Still hungry; would like to be pushed further into limits as young & dangerous; hence would like to ask for more drawdown / VAR

Does that question come with increased hidden expectations? Anything to be wary of? Any pitfalls of asking for it &; underdeliverying for next year calendar?

How to proceed on this, do I wait for them to give me more or is it a more of ; ask &; you shall receive?

Also if I think next year is the strategy to be cruising along without increasing expectations & maintaining status quo, should I be doing that instead?

I probably know answers already to some of these questions but would like to see how far away my thoughts are vis a vis to how others approach this
