Boutique/LMM IB to MMHF?

Just started at a very tiny regional bank less than a year ago, what would be the path of least resistance towards the big 4 pod shops (L/S) ?

My current plan is to do lateral toward a bigger bank after a year and start recruiting from there onwards once I've hit associate, or am I wasting time and should be focusing more on crafting stock pitches/networking with PMs?

Bank brand usually isn't a barrier for the pods but if its truly a regional bank no one's heard of, I'd try moving up to a larger one.

Do a year or two and then reach out to bizdev and HH's asking to move
