Breaking in early 30s L/S or ideally LO
Mid+large cap PE, then HBS/GSB, then top VC (sequoia/accel/lightspeed/a16z/etc)
I want to go work someplace like Dragoneer or Welly/Cap Group, someplace I can cover some combo of semis and consumer Internet and software.
My technical skills are pretty ass since they’ve atrophied the last 4-5 years at bschool and in VC.
I want to do this just because it seems interesting and a good personal development path I’d like to pursue even if non-linear.
What’s the best next step? Send a 1-page pitch and my resume around to friendly intros I can get? Send my PA?
What in the world am I reading? Can college students please stop trying to roleplay on this site
I do see it reads like a LARP now that I am reading it back but my proof I am in my early 30s is that I ate dunkaroos as an after school snack as a kid
Checks out. Dunkaroos were fire. 2 packs before homework. Good times..
Dragoneer and "Welly" are very similar firms indeed
Seems tough without a heck of a story given your background only minimally helps with public market investments. You clearly have a strong background, but it's a different skillset.
That is the thing. Only story I have is seems like an interesting life chapter to have. And would have to brush up on accounting. PE modeling was mostly template driven.
.
Dude, stop.
If you really had this background you would not talk like this.
Ignore title. I work at one of those firms and 0 chance your plan works even if you’re not a larper. You missed your boat with MBA recruiting for 2 of those firms and close to 0 chance you’re recruited for an analyst role with your background. Good luck.
your current track seems pretty good. why spend all that time to start over? lol
Whats your rationale for leaving a top VC?
