Business Services PM’s

Have seen a few posts around for TMT and consumer PM’s but don’t see much around business services.. anyone know who the good services PM’s are in NY and London?

Biz services is a small subsector that comprises a bunch of random, different end markets and companies. Hard to imagine it's a space large or profitable enough to sustain a large PM team.

There are parts of biz svcs like ratings agencies covered by financials guys. Others like waste management by industrials guys. Information services like FDS or FICO by financials/tech... it really is all over the place, and the companies under the broad umbrella often don't have much in common.

I’m covering those names under a tech pm, my coverage is really all over the place from IT services (system integrators, BPO, consulting, etc), those with fins angle (ratings, bureaus, some fintech/payment, exchanges), more traditional business services (uniforms, staffing).

If look at group of folks covering the sector, they’re mix of industrial, fins, tech. So far I’ve never really seen “dedicated” services PMs from traditional pods.

Semi pod places (like Junto) have more dedicated folks looking at these names I know from conferences, but not many around.

Thanks for this, super helpful. How’d you end up getting this coverage? Did you request it specifically? Also, do you do the staffers?

I’m in a boring sector coverage at the moment (think fins, infra, util) and was previously a generalist and loved doing biz services, so am just curious if I move seats how to get this coverage / convince a PM to cover this.
