Career advice -path to L/S equity

Hi all, Just need some advice around my current situation. My goal is to land a long/short hedge fund but I am currently stuck with a dillemma. My first option is going to a sector focused growth equity firm in an investing role. This firm is newly formed and it is pretty small for now but the team seems good. My second option is going with a structured finance banking role at a top bank (top BB, EB) i know that the most common paths are M&A and Rx but I am trying to see which makes more sense for me to eventually land a long short equity role.
