CITADEL, what's the inside? (Originally Posted: 10/03/2007)
I have just received an offer to join Citadel's FTAP program, and have been reading some threads on forums about this company. The opinions about CITADEL seem to be very varied, some very good, and some very bad. Some people have been talking about massive layovers, or firings before completing the program. However, some people have been saying that it's a firm that extremely hard work is expected, and very well rewarded. It's strange because Citadel has been recruiting at my school and others, very agressively. And during the on-site interviews, they put you on ritz-carlton, and butter you up all the time. For what? To fire you later?!?!? I am undergraduate, and currently looking for a job, so your opinion is very welcome.
if you read the FTAP description on the website it states something to the extent of " upon completetion of the training program, analysts may be asked to stay"
this differs from the description for their ITAP program, so im assuming it wasnt accidental.
ive heard bad things about their culture, and some of of the people i have met have been total assholes. but then again it probably differs by desk.
two of the smartest guys i know work there, but it's not an easy place...
