CMT for a CFA Level III Candidate

I'm working at a Hedge Fund in risk and I want to break into a traders role. I already "have my foot in the door" but now I want to develop the skill set to rotate into trading. Still pursuing the CFA, will sit for level 3 next June. Is the CMT something that would be worth the time/money for me?
