Company name on CV
How common is it not to disclose a company name on your CV?
I worked in a single family office for a couple of years and would like to leave out its name. Would it raise any red flags?
Is it enough just to say on my CV: ‘Single Family Office ($AUM) / my role’?
You can leave out any information you don't feel comfortable disclosing. Interested parties will call/email and ask for details while offering discretion.
if the company and location are both small enough, people often know which firm it is anyway.
Also interested in this. Will it raise recruiters eyebrows if one of the past roles does not have a company name? I saw people do it on linkedin sometimes but wonder if its normal for resumes.
It's more common than you think. One reason is that your own firm also looks for candidates and if they see their own company/staff/location as "available", they might take a note which employee has recently updated their documents...
Just curious, why don't you want to disclose?
I've heard about Soros telling employees not to name employer on linkedin etc, not sure whether it's out of security reasons or what.
