I know many people in both the finance and accounting world, but have not heard of many CPAs merging into the finance world. I am currently in the accounting field, specifically audit, and have been pulled towards the finance world in the recent months. I wanted to begin a discussion for people to be able to discuss and share knowledge about CPAs finding jobs in hedge funds, private equity, asset management, etc. Do you see many CPAs moving into finance after a few years at a Big Four? Was it difficult for you to make the transfer from accounting to finance? Did the CPAs seem to be behind others or did they offer a solid background to build on? These are just some examples of questions I think could spark some conversation.
