I have a summer 2027 offer for an investment analyst role in Chicago and for a middle/back office role in NYC. Both are hedge funds and a more lean/smaller team. I want to ultimately be client facing and be in NYC and am stumped on which offer to take.

Front office in Chicago, absolutely no question about it. Unless you want to have a career in middle/back office or want to work tremendously hard to have a small fraction of a chance at front office again.
not seeing why you'd ever go for the middle/back office... is there something we don't know
