Do Names Matter as Much at Hedge Funds?

I'm still in college so I'm kind of an idiot but bear with me.

Are Hedge Funds similar to IBs with notable names to work for? Or is it kind of a FFA where as long as you work at a hedge fund, you work at a hedge fund.

Asking because I have a call with someone in Atlanta.

It definitely matters to the point that you'd want to make sure it's an established fund and not just any place calling themselves a HF
