Education

If I have done two years of equity research, what kind of education program will help me to start career in hedge fund ?

Any master program in grad. school ? Or is a MBA degree more beneficial ?

Also is CFA important ?

CFA is definitely important for any form of ER progression... not so much an MBA... Master of Science in Finance is also good. But CFA is way cheaper. And the prospects of a respected MsF program are harder to gauge than the respected legacy of the CFA institute. Good Luck.

If you ain't buy side what are you doing on Wall St.? Gimme something good sport...

CFA is all you would need. Hedge funds generally don't recruit from MBA programs. ER is a better launching pad into a hedge fund. Do you have relationships with any funds? How is your relationship with the Analyst you work for? He/She should definitely have relationships with hedge funds and could make introductions.
