I find it ironic that I'm able to get a one-on-one meeting with the CEO and CFO of a company but not able to get a 1st round interview for a position in their Finance department.

They meet you as an investor because they need to, not because they want to.
Laughed at this...but I bet its more so bc HR or whoever is screening resumes doesn't know up from down.
Maybe next time ask them LO questions like culture and 3 yr plan instead of grilling them about why they missed organic growth estimates by 20bps!! But seriously if you do have a cordial relationship with IR, maybe try having a chat with them.
