Family Office Platforms

Currently in LBO PE looking for HF exit. How do you feel about Family Office Platforms (big shops like MSD or Declaration or Wildcat), specifically one that would be raising external capital for the first time? There would be 2 IPs + me and the role would be generalist L/S + some late stage growth pre-IPO companies.

Not sure if I should accept this interview. I want to keep a strong relationship with the headhunter.

I think you’ll find that a lot of HF guys have been very interested in moving to FO’s over the last several years. Not saying it’s for everyone, but those can be great gigs. Stable capital, typically better work life balance and internal relationships, longer term views and not chasing the Mo etc are some of the benefits.

I know Wildcat is hiring. Personally, I’d jump at the opportunity. I think highly of Bonderman and Tom.
