So, when researching a name (buyside, sellside, whatever), how do you go about your field work? How to you get in contact with suppliers / ex-employees / customers etc.?
I know some banks have a services for this which’ll do the leg work for you, but alas, I don’t. And if you’re a fund, you’ll probably shell out the cash, but in lieu of those options...?

normally a warm call is the best where your network is that large. but most of the times i just call cold.
