From Buyside Equity analyst toHF
Hi,
I am finishing my second year as a buyside equity research analyst (for a big mutual fund) and do ok... have had negative months, but so far always above the benchmark. Will be taking cfa level 1 in december and hold a phd in economics from a top 10 european university.
My question is: How do I move to hedge funds? Do i need more track record than 2 years to make the leap? Does it depend on the sectors i have been covering? Would studying for CAIA help? But basically... the moving to hedge funds part. How?
Thanks!
I cant answer your question, but it really depends on the type of HF you want to get into.
I suggest you also ask your question here: http://www.analystforum.com/phorums/list.php?1
