From US Investment Banking to International HF
I'm an incoming analyst at a fairly well-known middle-market bank in the US that has a few offices outside of the US. I've been exploring exit opportunities just like every other incoming analyst, but see little content on anyone moving internationally. I'm very interested in possible opportunities to work outside the US after my 2-3 years in IB. I've asked analysts that I've met, but they all seem to go to PE/VC instead of HF. I'm interested in mostly global-macro strategy or long/short focused funds if that helps at all. Just wanted to post this to see if anyone has a relevant story to share. I'm aware that it would most likely be easier to go to a US HF after IB then try to make the move to another HF, but wanted to see if the direct move has been done before. Thanks.
