Full-Time 2025 Thread: IB / PE / HF / PC

I'm a rising senior in IB this summer but not loving it. I want to switch groups for FT (graduate May 2025) but am also interested in other high finance roles for obvious reasons. Hoping this can be a thread to track when applications come out since I'm having trouble finding it online.

Based on previous WSO threads, here are some insights and tips for your situation:

  1. Recruitment Timeline:

    • Return Offers: Typically, return offers for summer analysts are handed out in August.
    • Full-Time Applications: Other banks often post full-time applications after return offers are distributed. However, it's wise to start preparing and applying earlier to stay ahead of the competition.
  2. Switching Groups:

    • If you're looking to switch groups within your current firm or to another firm, networking is crucial. Start reaching out to contacts in your desired groups or firms to express your interest and learn about potential openings.
  3. Tracking Application Openings:

    • WSO Forums: Keep an eye on the Wall Street Oasis forums, as users frequently share updates on application timelines for various banks and high finance roles.
    • Company Websites: Regularly check the careers pages of the firms you're interested in. They often post application dates and deadlines there.
  4. Preparation:

    • Resume and Cover Letter: Ensure your resume and cover letter are tailored to the roles you're applying for. Highlight relevant experience and skills.
    • Mock Interviews: Consider using WSO's mock interview services to practice and refine your interview skills.
  5. Resources:

    • WSO Academy: Explore the WSO Academy for courses and training programs that can help you prepare for interviews and enhance your finance knowledge.
    • Financial Modeling: Utilize the free financial modeling lessons and templates available on WSO to strengthen your technical skills.

By staying proactive and leveraging these resources, you'll be better positioned to secure a full-time role in your desired group or high finance area.
