Fund Admin to S&T

I'm on a bachelor's-to-MIF gap year, and I've received an offer for hedge fund administration at a major custodian bank (State Street/Citi). There doesn't seem to be direct upward mobility in the role, but it would have me working with a specific instrument that interests me.

How is the transition from MO to FO? Is the experience worth it as a first role coming from a non-finance background?

Is this jump reasonable to achieve with an MIF + CFA?

Interested to hear your thoughts.
