Have an in-house interview coming up with a credit fund in which I will get 3 hours to complete a case study. Any of you all have advice on how to go about building a model for something of this nature? While 3 hours is quite a bit of time, I imagine it could go pretty quickly if you need to get to know a new company and build a full model/valuation for it. What would you focus on and where would you go lighter on the detail? Would you still try to build in quarterly forecasts? Any advice in general from someone who has been through something similar?

Have you had any cases preceding this round? I have gone through a similar process and before the in-person I had a very involved valuation case study. Assuming you have not, in a 3 hour time span I would think this specific team will be concerned with your ability to think about the part of the cap structure they invest in. There's likely a few reports they'll hand you and I'd go straight to the MD&A section of the latest reports to see how they think about their rev/expense drivers and get a sense of how to build out assumptions for their future road map.
