Hedge fund path (non quant)
I’m interested in the public markets; however, I’m going down the investment banking path.
What are the different paths from banking to hedge funds?
Also, what are the more attractive positions within a hedge fund. Buyside research? Trader? Etc? I don’t know much ab HF but want to start planning before I start my banking job
Find what strategy interests you the most. Banking is good for equity L/S and event driven, but within those you should find a niche that you want to commit to. Then network with people at those firms
Interested In those and macro funds
How is banking good for L/S or event driven ?
Modelling companies for L/S, and stuff like merger arb, distressed etc. are very banker-y strategies
