Hedge/Investment Fund Founders - I Would Love to Hear your Individual Experiences & Stories
I'm currently a third year student in college and will be participating in a summer analyst program at a BB investment bank this year. I'm pretty focused on doing as well as possible to get a full-time offer and hopefully jumping over to the buy-side at a long/short fundamentals-based fund at some point. Right now, my ultimate goal is to start my own fund (and save enough money to eventually buy an NFL team). Given that hedge funds seem to be waning in popularity (I think they are experiencing a surge in popularity right now - I'm a PWM intern and a lot of private clients seem to be interested in HF because of all the recent volatility - but in general they have been overtaken in popularity by PE I think.), do you think going into the buy-side as an investment analyst at a hedge fund and potentially starting one is a good idea?
