Interestedd if anyone has some intel wrt to the big HF developing in Dubai and how is it to work here compared to London (gross comp, day to day job, culture, offices size, nationality within the teams, sectors covered etc.)

Pretty much all the big multi strats have Dubai offices. Whether they let you work there is another thing - apparently office space is still limited.
Nationality is mixed because they're essentially used as tax havens for global employees, not to specifically hire local talent or anything like that.
Everything is pretty much the same as London, including gross comp.
I worked in one of the big multi strats in Dubai. As another user said, depending on your appetite for traditional culture, there are only upside in being in Dubai: same comp with no taxes, good weather except for the summer but every activites are indoor (you can still go to the beach at night as it is watched 24/7), way safer than London (or Paris, don’t know for NY), new landscapes. Better and cheaper services, cheaper cost of living as a whole. To be honest I missed Europe at times because most of my relatives are located there but if I could I would have stayed in Dubai for at least 4-5 years but sht happens sometimes. Still, I’m planning on going back as soon as possible.
For reference, I didn’t have any timezone issues since I was in a systematic pod, so all the execution was handled by the execution team in London.
