HF non-complete includes banks?

I have a simple question. Need some advice from the veterans.
On paper, my HF employment contract has a x-months non-compete during which I can't join a competitor; competitor is defined as a company that competes directly in business with the company. Suppose my current position is in the trading department of the HF.
Quick question: Would a trader position, same asset, on a sell-side bank constitute as this HF's competitor? This HF uses said bank's services.
