HF out of Canadian undergrad

Hi all,

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I wanted to see if anyone had more recent insight on the possibility of landing a hedge fund internship or in FT recruiting from a Canadian University, requiring sponsorship.

Any insight is appreciated!

Some HFs like P72 have dedicated summer programs and some analysts do come from Canadian schools. Generally big HFs like Citadel/P72 have experience sponsoring internationals/Canadians, but for smaller HFs its a hit or miss. Also, it depends on what Canadian school you go to, eg Ivey/Queens have alums that work or have worked at these funds directly out of undegrad, although if you go to other unis, you can try networking to get an interview. also its a good idea to recruit for IB in the US as backup in case HF doesn't work out, since IB>HF is an achievable outcome
