HF Part-Time Internship Advice

Over the past summer, I've interned at a 8-12B AUM multi-strat HF. When I asked the HF if a part-time internship during the school year might be a possibility they said they didn't see why not and that they would look into it. My questions is, how long should I give them before I follow up on my request. There wouldn't be any interview process since I would be working with the same time and probably minimal paperwork as well. The reason why I am slightly anxious about waiting is because if they decide not to allow me to stay on, I'll need to find another job for the school year, which is only a couple of weeks from now.
