HF Recruiting for Internationals
Any internationals in analyst roles in HFs? Is it only possible to break into the biggest HFs or do smaller HFs with lower AUMs also sponsor H1Bs? Any insights into the recruiting process would be really helpful!

I've come across people at the big name funds that seemed like they were internationals. I'm sure you can find that data somewhere. For smaller funds, depends on a case by case basis. I've seen some small firms willing to sponsor. No fund has directly told me they won't be willing to sponsor when I was going through the process.
Should not be an issue if you are good in a front office role. They will even sponsor your green card if you're valuable. Maybe more variance in very small funds, but it's like less than $10k for an outside lawyer to do the paper work, no?
a little bit complicated with the visa in the US, you either need connections or to prove to be exceptionally unique compared to another US candidate
Check out h1bdata.info (the website) to see which firms currently employ visa holders. I don’t think this would be a totally conclusive claim about current or future recruiting, but it might be helpful to see whether there’s precedent
