Going to lateral from a mid-sized LO operation in credit to a more dynamic, larger, shop. I would be giving up my year end bonus (paid in Jan). Not sure when the bonus is paid in the next place. Currently an associate, and was wondering if I should ask for a sign on bonus to at least partially compensate my YE bonus. Even a small-ish amount would work.

It's a very reasonable thing to ask for and a fairly standard part of a negotiation process. Either a guaranteed bonus for this cycle that should be commensurate with what you expect from your current shop or a sign on bonus.
