I received an offer from a fund and have been stuck for two weeks waiting for background check. I have no criminal record and have a good credit. Nobody is suing me for anything.
Why is it taking so long? How long did it take for you to clear bgrnd check?

Depends on how thorough of a check (which is a function of seniority). Not unusual for the process to take > 1 month.
Usually they are quick. Mine took a bit longer because I've lived in some off the run places so it took longer to verify addresses and drivers licenses with local authorities (something they do).

Around 2 weeks.
If it’s taking both of you longer than I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Entirely possible that rona is causing delays.
Why don;t you just ask? On my last process I'd follow up with HR every few days after the first week as I had an deadline of sorts I was targeting.
