How long should HF recruiting take?

Did 1 year of banking before transitioning to a PC role (just finished year 2).

For the past 6 months, I have been recruiting for hedge funds, but haven’t gotten any offers (0/4). I am getting looks — but conversion just hasn’t gone my way yet.

How long does it typically take to sign a HF offer? At what point should I call it quits? A little discouraged, but still passionate about this path, and I am improving and refining my approach to each new interview/process.

when I recently recruited for a new seat, I did maybe 15+ interviews across different funds over 6-7 months, I made it to final rounds in like 7-8 of those, was told I was the runner up in at least 5 of those processes... had I chosen to give up after the 5th time I was told I was the runner up, I wouldn't have landed the amazing seat I'm in today.

Not saying that every process is like this... some people land offers in the first interview they do, some take a while like I did... more important is that you realize that there is a lot of luck involved in each of these processes (along with hard work).  I'd just keep your head up, keep learning from mistakes of the past interviews, and give your best to every interview you do.  You will eventually land a great seat that's meant to be for you.

Also interested in recruiting for hedge funds after 2 years in banking. Was wondering how you find the hedge fund opportunities. Thank you!
