Been working in ER at a BB for a bit over two years now. I am considering sending in my resume to a Hedge Fund that recently posted an opening. Found out that a former colleague (much more senior and from another country/office so we never interacted - my boss was his colleague technically) has a pretty senior position at the firm.
Was thinking of reaching out on LinkedIn and talking about the company with the ultimate end goal of asking if he’d let me mention him in my application (huge plus points for sure).
Should I do this? Is there a risk that he’ll mention to my current firm that I’m sending out my resume? Or do I just send in my app and mention that I worked with him if I get to the interviews?
