IB exit to HF, low ball offer
I’m a 2nd year monkey at a mid tier IB as a strat developing algo strategies. Recently got an offer to join a small HF (IB background. So If I may ask,
1) what’s the avg base nowadays for a junior researcher at smaller HF?
2) for guaranteed bonus?
3) what % do you expect to get on top of guaranteed

Base is 125-150. HFs don't offer guarantees to juniors. There is no on top of ex coinvest. Maybe you should post your comp so we have context otherwise these are vague meaningless questions.

To be more specific on the offer.. somewhere between 120k-140k with a guaranteed of 25%
those numbers seem low...doesn't citadel pay 300k+ for quants these days?
Did you accept, was this the only shop you got interest from? If so network and prepare to move on after if you don’t like the shop or don’t see any advancement opps.
