Importance of JPM group for HF Placement
Hey guys, incoming SA at JPM with goal of exiting into publics. Was wondering how much the group matters in terms of "prestige" or if JPM is good all around and to just pick the people I vibe with the most.
If you want to exit to HF for FT, group won’t really matter and same applies to after 2yrs of banking.
Obviously, being on a sector team will give you a tiny leg up if you are to cover the same sector at HF, but you will have to learn what you learned in IB for 2yrs within a month. So wouldn’t really matter unless you do something very niche like infra, real estate, etc
i have some interest in consumer and retail but many say to go for m&a since quality of work is higher - is it better to do one or the other?
