Including a pitch/ research with networking emails?
Ive been looking to intern at a hedge fund in the fall and Im beginning to email local funds, I was wondering whether including a pitch or equity research in my emails would be helpful?
For context, Im doing a STEM degree and I do know the technicals through 2 summer projects; i do feel like since its not work experience I need to show some sort of proof that i do in fact know somethings.
Any advice on reaching out or the aformentioned would be very much appreciated
Nothing I love more than getting an email from a student with their crappy GOOG pitch.
Thats kinda funny. Was hoping to do either a certain mining or biotech company. But I still see your point.
Might be safer to send a primer or any similar writing sample and then ask if they want you to demonstrate a thesis afterwards. A pitch is sometimes problematic because it could be a related name for the desk but also individual use of spam filters is likely to be triggered too.
Always include a pitch. I don't respond to networking students / younger analysts that don't include one.
This is the right answer. Ignore all the others.
A few questions if you don't mind
Hey is it better to send an email first and saying you can send a pitch or just sending it straight up? another user mentioned spam filters.
I was thinking a 4-6 page document with citations is the ideal length or would shorter be better?
