Interest Rate Risk Modeling

I'm getting alittle bored in my current role(Commodities analyst) and came across a post for Interest Rate Risk Modeler and wanted to learn more about the position and what it can lead to. I come from a quantitative background and I understand many of the interest rate models out there but does anyone have a clue as to what is the day to day role of a position like this at a private bank...

Position Detail: -Assist the Director of Interest Rate Risk in the analysis and reporting of current and prospective hedging strategies. -Maintain the interest rate risk model using bank approved software -Assist in the development and/or enhancement of sound product behavior and economic assumptions used in the model(s) and develop reports to assist management in better measurement, monitoring and management of the interest rate risk.
