Interview advice
Ok quick post, need some advice. Currently working as a commodity trader and looking to make a transition to a fixed income HF. I received a handful of interviews over the last month that led to 4 final rounds. I’ve continuously been told that I’m not the right fit for the role given my experience, but I’m starting to think it’s a fit issue given I get absurdly nervous during the final round. My question boils down to this: Would a company bring you in for a final round (and in some cases fly you out) if you weren’t qualified or at the very least a top 2 candidate? Keep in mind these are small funds ($750m- $3.3B AUM) with less than a 20 person headcount so I would think culture is important.
How have you gotten the interviews?
