Is a masters/PhD in economics anything in the L/S equities world?
Not entirely certain this is the industry I want to spend my career, but I never see anyone with these qualifications in equities. Is there a reason for this?

Because it doesn't tell much about anyone's ability to analyze a single company, which requires accounting and finance knowledge.
Basic microeconomics, macroeconomics and game theory are very useful, but rest from a Master / PhD in Econ are overkill and irrelevant.

What skills are relevant? Fin Statement Analysis and other IB skills, Basic Micro Macro, and what?
