Is it creepy or weird to mention to a fund manager that you looked at his 13F?

Been in fairly regular contact with the manager of a small [$300M AUM] L/S equity fund for almost a year now. I peeked at the funds 13F before meeting him initially just to get an idea of what they invest in. Today, I did a deeper dive looking at quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year position movements. With +40% and +100% growth Q-over-Q and Y-over-Y, respectively, I'm tempted to complement the results. Keeping in mind that some of this could have come from additional investment.

Is it creepy or weird to mention that I looked at his 13F?

Initially, I feel like it is; However, it could just be viewed as a nod of recognition and interest.

Thoughts?
