Junior Summer: Long Only AM vs High Yield Research at a BB
Hey everyone,
I’m currently an econ major considering two internship offers and could use some advice. Still narrowing down long term goals but am currently interested in long only (unsure whether equity or credit), l/s, and early stage investing in tech/media (realize this route may require an MBA). The offers are:
Long only asset management at Fidelity/Capital Group/Dodge & Cox in their buy-side research program. (located in their headquarters)
High Yield Credit Research at MS/GS/JPM. (T3 city/regional office)
I’m torn between both opportunities and would love some insights on learning opportunities, branding as the BB name is hard to turn down, MBA potential, and potential to move into a HF seat.
This is a bit all over the place, but any advice is appreciated. Thank you!
I would personally do LO, especially if it’s at Capital Group or Dodge & Cox. Good luck choosing !
LO no question. Brand name won't be as strong but will still be strong, MBA potential is just as good, and HF exits would be available.
