KKR Special Situations - London

Guys, does anyone have any information on KKR's Special Situations team in London. It's part of the Credit team. Any information on work culture, compensation etc would be great.

yea, not part of the PE element, different offices etc. Know a guy there who is a great guy, not what you'd expect from KKR (e.g., not douche bag). do a lot "rescue financing" / basically buying the equity of the business through putting in very expensive jnr debt with PIKs and equity kickers involved.

Good team with 40% return. The London team is pretty small - 12 people-ish, and the office is in Pall Mall, but different from the main KKR office. Confirmed that people there are down to earth, and the team is pretty flat. Pretty flexible investing strategy - could go either long or short on the capital structure. Currently they are raising a new fund and if you happen to know italian, it'd be a huge plus.

Because the Italian and Spanish economies have lots of special situations, given their bombed-out economies and weak financial systems...
