Lateraling to MM L/S

Currently at a $2B event-driven credit & eq fund (M&A, carves, spinco, distressed debt, etc). joined out of school just under a year ago. more of a liquid shop so not super recognizable (not getting on steerco and fucking people), so limited brand name.

Got an offer to lateral to C/M/P L/S -> comp haircut but better brand for TMTequities.

What's the tradeoff / considerations? Not a fan of the market neutral model but want to consider the fact that maybe brand matters at an early stage? Went to a T20 private for undegrad (not HYPSWM)
