How often do you see companies pursuing a levered buyback strategy? What do you think of this? It's great for the IRR in my model but obviously real life is more dynamic.
Think about it from CEO perspective - is increasing my job security risk worth the extra juice on my stock incentive plan? Answer is probably no which is why you don’t see it more often
Can only pull that lever once and usually indicative of organic growth becoming challenging, I.e. not a positive signal in most situations. Would only view it positively if I had a lot of confidence in the stock being undervalued and in management’s track record in buying back stock when it’s undervalued
