Life in West Palm Beach
I'm gonna be working full time in wpb at one of the hedge funds there. I didn't intern there before joining as a new grad, so I've never been to wpb, but what's it like working there?
What's the scene? Where do people working in similar places hangout? How do you really network there outside of ur firm?
Any info or advice would be awesome.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, West Palm Beach (WPB) offers a unique lifestyle compared to traditional financial hubs like NYC. While WPB is known for its warm weather and luxurious vibe, it’s also a smaller, more intimate financial scene. Here’s what you should know:

It's a bit dead, but pleasant. Is it a L/S seat?
It’s credit based
diameter?
I grew up there, its pretty quiet / local. Would probably get into golf and go out in delray on the ave.
I did my undergrad and MBA at a school in Cambridge
grew up on the island. probably not a place you want to be until 40+. Wpb is fine but most people who didn’t leave are bums.
Very depressing place to be in your 20s realising you’re working for those across the bridge and basically no one in your age/friend group.
Probably good for saving money on taxes and no where to spend much. Not bad to stay focus. Get good at job, workout, stay fit and gtfo
Work there in PE. Super chill lifestyle, great if you like to golf/fish. There's great bars on Clematis/the ave in Delray but very little networking w/ other finance people. Outside of a couple happy hour type things I don't think I've ever met someone working in finance around here... maybe a skill issue but idk lol
All that said I love it here. Great place to raise a family, year round golfing, nice people
How bad are the prospects for a single man in his late 20s/early 30s?
Depends. How open are you to single mom waitress w two kids?
Not horrible if you're into latinas and open to driving ~45min for a date
