LO Overview

I know there’s a million other posts about the best LOs and adv/dis vs MMs

But I’m a sophomore in college, I struck out on IB recruiting and working at a LO is the dream for me. So I just wanted to know about people’s experiences recruiting for all these shops out of college and for the summer.

I know capital/fidelity/select/pershing/wellington/ruane exist but I have no idea if I can recruit for them out of college and what other LOs exist that actually recruit undergrads and have summer programs and I can’t seem to figure it out online or on WSO

Any help would be appreciated, including previous threads where this is answered which I might have missed

Dodge & Cox, fidelity, and cap group all have summer equity research associate programs. Typically 6-8 interns. Very competitive- but worth shooting for, you’ll need a top profile, like leadership in university investment club. If LO is the goal I’d recommend recruiting for sell side equity research. The 2+2+2 is overrated and doesn’t prepare you for public markets imo

I do have high leadership at the best investment club at an Ivy but I thought SSER recruiting is done at the same time as banking. Same question as the other comment but are there any shops I should be looking at which still haven’t opened

Pershing is not an LO and if you struck out on IB recruiting you will not make it into any of the programs you listed from undergrad. Best bet is trying for ER and lateraling.

Yeah that makes sense, I didn’t strike out of IB cause I’m an idiot but these LO seats seem close to impossible to get out of college.

I just thought ER recruiting ran the same timeline as banking otherwise that’s what I hope to recruit for now at least. Are there specific shops I should start looking for
