London Hedge Fund
Hello everyone,
I'm a first year analyst at a BB bank in London and currently just weighing up the exit options.
Just curious to know what are the main hedge funds people tend to end up at after 1/2 years in the bank and how the compensation is.
Also curious how the retention is so do most people who go these funds end up being sacked after 1-2 years?
If we're talking L/S then Mainly the large multimanagers, since they are hiring aggressively and have the highest headcounts. Go read up on how a multimanager works.
This includes names like millennium, P72, citadel, balyasny.
You don't have a role so can't tell if youre in ER or IB. If IB then people can go to other funds with a variety of strategies. Merger arb, special sits, activist, distressed. Really depends. No specific names here.
Is the entry point to P72 mainly thru the academy?
For grads yes, for laterals no.
see a lot of rando funds job postings london which I reckon are startup funds. Analysts don't always come from BBs
Where are you seeing these postings?
Bump
At mms people do tend to lose their gigs pretty easily compared to other careers
What's are hours like at these MM funds ?
Et ea eligendi consequatur odio. Ut quaerat id sed qui.
