Quick question on if this would be useful to anyone in the HF industry:
- In a former life, I did academic research on wage inflation.
- As part of this research, I found some leading indicators of wage inflation from the current population survey (CPS), if you do some significant data work on the raw CPS numbers.
- Does anyone here think this would this be useful to inform hedge fund trading strategies? If I re-coded up this data work and standardized the product, do you think that this data would be something that HFs would be interested in? If so, could I monetize this?
Useful, yes... However, it’s not clear how much this could be worth. Wage data, while rather important at the moment, isn’t necessarily all that significant and market-moving most of the time.
