Merger Arb Interview Advice
Hi, i'm currently interviewing for a merger arb role as an investment analyst role at a quantitative fund. I'm coming from an acquisition seat in big tech with a prior background in sponsors M&A when I worked in banking, and an academic background in mathematics. I'm a bit perplexed on what to study as it seems like their process is informal. The first round was mostly behavioral and asked about my background/interest in merger arb. I've been following a couple deals along with the potential risks associated with them. Given that this next round is only a 30 minute virtual interview, any idea what would be the best way to prepare? Or more generally, what should one expect for a merger arb interview? Thank you!
