MM BD reached back out after I was cut from process

Got a text a week ago from a headhunter asking if I was interested in reconnecting with the MM pod I interviewed a few months ago (passed the case study round but went with a different candidate after the PM interview). I obviously said yes I was still interested but haven't heard anything since (suppose cause of the Thanksgiving holiday).

Was curious if this ever happened to anyone previously and what the outcome of it was?  Appreciate any stories and thanks in advance!

Well, based on the most helpful WSO content, it's not uncommon for companies to reach back out to candidates who were previously in the running. There could be a variety of reasons for this - perhaps the candidate they chose didn't work out, or maybe a new position has opened up that they think you'd be a good fit for.

In terms of what to expect, it's hard to say without knowing more about the specific situation. However, I would recommend being prepared for another round of interviews, just in case. It's also a good idea to ask the headhunter for more information about why they're reaching out again - this could give you some insight into what the company is thinking.

Remember, patience is key here. It's possible that the holiday has slowed things down a bit. But if you don't hear back after a reasonable amount of time, it might be worth following up to express your continued interest.

And remember, even if this opportunity doesn't pan out, don't lose hope. The job search can be a roller coaster, but with persistence and a positive attitude, you're sure to land where you're meant to be. Keep swinging, buddy!
