MM to SM HF / Tiger Cub?

Would really appreciate some color on the transition. I know everyone here says it's not really possible / common, but is it doable (especially in recent years?)? Citadel / Point 72 (as an analyst, NOT PM, maybe 0-3 years out of school) to Viking / LP / D1 whatever, is it doable? Or is it only PE? What are the ACTUAL exits from MM HF, other than rotate MLP BAM P72 Cit or join sub $1-2bn SMs? Are there more than a few precedents of MM to big SM / tiger cub?

Thanks
