Modeling Question

Whats up! Trying to improve my modeling skills by building some 3-statements based on public companies. I know you can get very granular with the revenue and cost aspects of companies depending on the industry (ex. Widget Company: volume of widgets and price per widget then growing those factors over time). My question is do public companies publish such granular variables? If they do, are they usually in the 10Ks? If you do find them, do you just develop a thesis about them based on your view of macro trends in the industry? I usually just see a breakdown of segments. I am guessing the granular stuff is hidden in some notes of the 10K. Thanks in advance!

BIWS has a good case study - I think the 3 hour model. I wonder if Claude can generate some synthetic data and create multiple case studies based off this.

IRL lots of companies really suck with granular data reporting in the Investor Presentations. I recall one time finding "units sold" in FY21 and FY24 with no other references. They pick and choose when the hell they want to report.
